One of the best parts about being photographers is the chance to see so many different families of every size, shape—and species!

We love it when people bring their pets to photoshoots, because pets truly are part of their family. Our own “granddog,” Walter, loves to greet people when they come to our home studio in Danville, California. He’s the cute little guy in the elf hat. We love him so much!

We’ve also had the chance this season to go to clients’ homes to photograph their pets for the holidays. The dog, Luna, was so excited to see us that she wouldn’t stop barking! She got a TON of treats to help her calm down, and then we did our best to capture that energy and excitement as we photographed her. Her eyes were so expressive! We love how much personality she had.

And we’re not just dog people, either. The kitties we photographed at another client’s home were absolutely adorable! Of course, they were also typical cats—shy and not exactly loving the camera—but we were able to coax them out eventually. It just takes a little luck, timing, and skill. And really, these cats look absolutely precious in their little holiday outfits. It’s not every day that a cat lets you put it in a sweet holiday dress!

We know that pets are such an important part of our families, which is why we’re always thrilled when people ask us to photograph their pets. We want to showcase your family—your whole family—and these furry wonders are part of it. Thank you again to the clients who invited us into their homes; we truly enjoyed meeting your pets.
