Maternity: Typically, maternity portraits are taken when you're between the 30th to 36th week of pregnancy -- to showcase that nice round baby bump.
Together, you and I will style your maternity session so it captures you. Are you drawn to outdoor maternity images -- the ones in a forest or field of flowers? Or are you more drawn to the moody indoor "fine art" portraits? I'd love to do both with you! One option is for you to come to my home studio for a woodsy background in the private area behind the house and then we'll move indoors to capture your little family in front of a black or grey background for a more stylized look. Another option is for me to come to you -- your home, garden, or favorite spot.
As to what to wear, I'll cover that during our consultation but most of my clients enjoy a combination of fully clothed and artistic nudes in their portraits. I encourage you to bring whatever you feel comfortable wearing -- I love those formfitting bodycon dresses (check out Wolford lingerie). Honestly: the simpler, the better. Classic, elegant lingerie & maternity skirts, bandeau tops create beautiful, timeless images. I have some lovely maternity dresses for you to try here, along with flower headpieces, crowns, etc. You are welcome to bring accessories, as well -- flowers, hats, boots, jewelry -- it's all good. We will review this & talk ideas during your consultation. Ask me about print and product packages for maternity/newborn sessions, too.
Newborn: To get that beautiful curled-up precious newborn look, you'll want to schedule this for when the baby is between 7 to 14 days old. Call me when you know your due date, and we'll plan it! I am happy to come to your home, where baby is most comfortable (and so are mom & dad). No Stress, easy, relaxed. Because you can't just plan things with a newborn, these sessions can take a few hours. We'll roll with whatever comes. I'll bring appropriate props & clothing but absolutely let's include any special items you have. You're welcome to have the session here in my home studio, too. Whatever works easiest for your family.
Birth Capture: Photographing the birth is an incredible experience and I would be honored and thrilled to capture yours. Once you know your due date, call me & we'll work out the details.
